About Our Organisation

On taking charge as Director General of National Intelligence Bureau, I feel it is indeed a great honour to have been given this opportunity to serve the people of India. Maintaining proper law and order as well as securing the countrymen from any internal or external threats is a complex and challenging task and it would be my endeavour to instill a better sense of security in India’s citizens. While carrying on with the best practices evolved over the past decades, an innovative approach to tune policing to contemporary requirements will be the need of the hour. Safety of vulnerable groups such as women, children, and senior citizens shall be of utmost concern. The National Intelligence Bureau under my command, would strive to be more responsive and service-oriented with sharper focus on grievance-redressal and service-outreach to all sections of society. We have made considerable efforts to improve the quality of our manpower by imparting rigorous in-service training to our officers . For this purpose a separate Training Division has been created within National Intelligence Bureau. Briefly, we are now ready to accept more and bigger challenges and take up more investigations.

While we continue to make progress in organization building, we are also continuously reminding ourselves of the best standards of investigation and the statement ''the treatment of crime and criminals is one of the most unfailing tests of the civilization of any country." We are all committed to make the NIB a highly professional organization with outstanding organizational culture and work ethics. We strive for continuous up-gradation of our knowledge of law, criminal procedure, investigation and knowledge of terrorist organizations so as to keep ourselves abreast of latest developments and to be able to anticipate an emerging threat.

We would, at the same time, greatly cherish a trustworthy and robust community partnership. I sincerely look forward to your valuable cooperation in all our endeavors.

Woman Violence Law

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) was the first major law to help government agencies and victim advocates work together to fight domestic violence, sexual assault, and other types of violence against women. It created new punishments for certain crimes and started programs to prevent violence and help victims.
